Over the weekend, I took part in Career Day at the Indiana University Media School (I went when it was still the Journalism School, but there’s a lot more TV/radio/marketing/social media now). I took part in a panel on careers beyond the Indiana Daily Student newsroom, joined some group networking, and held a series of one-on-one interviews with students interested in author or publishing careers. On Saturday I also took part in a reunion for publications alumni and, years after my term, got to join other former editors in chief by signing Ernie Pyle’s desk. I managed to see a lot of friends I haven’t seen in far too long, to visit campus, and to eat quite a bit of Dagwood’s.
