Straylight literary magazine published my short story “Sealing Wax” last year, and now it’s followed up by including “Uncle Joe’s Still” in its Fall 2024 issue.
An excerpt:
My Uncle Joe used to say on the regular that a copy of a copy always lost something in the translation, and that a copy of that copy lost a right sight more. Or maybe he just said that a lot when he was talking about his special shine, the kind he used to make during what he liked to call the country’s “dry years.”
Now, as he would be the first to tell you, those dry years were none too dry for him…but I’m getting ahead of myself.
