More news on the book front

by Jeff Fleischer

I’ve been a bit busy lately with editing work and haven’t had a chance to post here, but the books continue to appear in some lists and articles that are worth a look. As a reminder, all my books are available wherever you buy books, and requests to libraries and literacy programs are always helpful. As AI slop and misinformation become more widespread, real nonfiction is more important than ever.

Teaching Books put together a deep America250 reading list and included Civic Minded among its fifty-some books to explain US history and civics.

Plainfield-Guilford Township Library in Plainfield, Indiana, made a great list of books explaining “adult stuff” to teens, and was happy to see Votes of Confidence listed alongside books on jobs, finances, and other important topics.

Milton Public Library in Milton, Massachusetts, featured Votes of Confidence in this handy group of books on civic literacy.

Brooklyn Public Library is always helpful, and suggested the ebook version of Rockin’ the Boat as further reading about civil rights in the United States.

Speaking of Rockin’ the Boat, the Korean edition is in its second printing there and was used as a source for the Korean Wikipedia article on Kate Sheppard, which I just find neat.
