Services

PLEASE NOTE: I am currently available only for publishers, think tanks, educational organizations, nonprofits, and research institutions at industry rate. My editing expertise in these areas focuses on US foreign and domestic policy, environmental science, history, literature, international affairs, economic policy, education, and international development. Because of multiple book deadlines, I will not be able to take on book projects from individual authors until late 2024 at the earliest, but can offer consultations and referrals. Thank you very much.

In addition to my own work, I offer a number of services for clients.

Copy editing for publications, think tanks, and research institutes. I consistently have a range of such clients, and can help a few more with these tasks on a long-term freelance or short-contract basis. I know the Chicago Manual, Associated Press, APA, and Fairfax Media style guides, and have also worked with various individual clients’ guides.

Instructional design and course building for nonprofits, educational institutions, and businesses. I have a decade of experience designing and creating Brandon Hall award-winning interactive courses and curricula in Storyline, Rise, and other online formats, as well as Word and PDF-based materials for in-person instruction.

Writing freelance articles for print or online magazines and news organizations. I’m available to write features and department pieces for both consumer and trade publications.

Proofreading materials, meaning a general copy edit including grammar, style, and consistency.

Interview consulting to help writers get used to talking about their work or to help them better define an in-progress or pending project by discussing it aloud to a professional.

General consulting for authors, screenwriters, or freelancers to help them brainstorm and define their projects. These can be done by phone, e-mail, or (where possible) in person.
