As regular readers might know, one of my side gigs is I review a lot of books for Foreword Reviews (since 2012, so it’s well above a hundred books now). Sometimes the magazine asks me to interview authors of books I recommend, so here are a few recent ones. Worth noting that I don’t write the intros; they get added after I send in the Q&A.
I interviewed Laura Fields about Furious Minds: The Making of the MAGA New Right, which explains the history of the far-right movement that’s taken over the Republican Party from conservatives in the past decade.
I spoke with George Frazier about his book Riverine Dreams, a travel-based exploration of America’s grassland rivers and their ecosystems.
I talked with top investigator Timothy Heaphy, about his new book Harbingers: What January 6th and Charlottesville Reveal about Rising Threats to American Democracy, which looks at the organizations behind those attacks on the United States and how they operate.
