New Shepherd article on favorite recent reads
A few weeks ago, Shepherd asked me to write up some of my favorite short-story collections. With Animal Husbandry (and Other Fictions) available for preorder wherever you buy books, the site also asked me to pick a few of my favorite books I read in the past year, and I picked works by Daniel Mason, Laurent Binet, and Peter Beagle. Visited Votes of Confidence at Horizon Books
When traveling, I usually try to pop into good independent bookstores and, if possible, to find my books on their shelves (I’m eight books into my career and still think it’s cool to see them in stores). School Library Journal highlights Civic Minded
As part of its Teen Librarian Toolbox, the excellent School Library Journal highlighted some of my publisher, Lerner Publishing’s, fall catalog. Not only can the book be ordered anywhere you buy books (Bookshop.org, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Target, Walmart…you get the idea), but it’s also available […]

My first fiction collection, Animal Husbandry (and Other Fictions) hits bookstores on September 10 and is available for preorder wherever you buy books. That includes your local bookstore via Bookshop.org, and my publisher Running Wild Press has a whole online bookstore there. Preorders are a huge help, especially for fiction, and I’m happy to do […]
